In order to provide a reasonable appraisal, we will need at least 3 of the following:

1) A picture of your watch. This is done using the "upload" feature.
2) Model number if known.
3) The case material, Silver, Steel or Gold, etc.
4) Case diameter & overall condition.

18K Memovox

Post by vincereynard » Sat Feb 13, 2016 11:54 am

I came across the attached whilst browsing the net.

A solid 18K Memovox, which according to my understanding of your excellent book, should be a caliber 916 Full Rotor Automatic.

One of the last made perhaps. Solid gold dial?

The back looks like it has had a serious session with the polishing wheel. I assume the "875" refers to the gold contents?.

I shall ask for better movement shots.

Priced at £1950 ($2850) which seems reasonable to me. What do you think please?

The images are poor of the site, I shall try to get better.

875 21 is likely to be the case reference number, something along the lines of E875 as 21 being the yellow gold, etc. Something like that.

I do agree with you and would expect an 916 in there.

Zaf,
Thanks for the reply,

"I assume the "875" refers to the gold contents?" Sorry about that, a bit of brain fade. Silly question.

1437876 - would this date it to about 1970?

I can't really date by case serial # but 1970 +/- is a good guess.
