I have Stainless Steel wrist watch with a 31 mm dial signed Cartier. The movement is a P478/C and was made by the European Watch and Clock Co and in a LeCoultre case stamped EW&C Co. The over all diameter of the case is 36 mm and the dial looks to be untouched. The case shows wear pitting but reasonable considering its, hopefully, age.
The dial has 12 "5" on it, so I've been calling it a man's Cocktail watch.
Thank you in advance for your help.

In order to provide a reasonable appraisal, we will need at least 3 of the following:
1) A picture of your watch. This is done using the "upload" feature.
2) Model number if known.
3) The case material, Silver, Steel or Gold, etc.
4) Case diameter & overall condition.
Due to the demands placed on my mailbox, I do not answer such inquires by direct mail. You must post your question here. Direct eMails regarding appraisals will be deleted and not answered.
Please note: Almost ALL the small ladies "cocktail" watches of brands such as Bulova, Gruen, Hamilton, etc., with gold trading at record prices are trading at or near scrap.

Re: Cartier by LeCoultre
It's a Jaeger-LeCoultre movement, just stamped EWCo.
My gut feeling is that the watch is genuine. Check for additional numerals on one of the lugs on the back side of the watch. Cartier often did that.

Thank you. Any idea of age or value. One lug has a 4 digit stamp that I can't read. I was hoping someone more familiar could fill in the blanks.
It it from the estate of a US bombedeer from WWII who was stationed in London after the war. My research has drawn a total blank as to the dial. The only data I have on Cartier novelty watches are related to the Crash model.

Looks legit to me. Age is likely late 1950s. Value hard to assess. How clean is the dial?

The dial is very clean with slight darkening around the edge. The numbers are all bright and the dial appears to be original and not refinished.
