Gold or steel?

I sent this watch to an authorized Jaeger LeCoultre dealer for full service. When I got it back the front case was «gold plated». Is this right? Was it originally in gold? I think it was much cooler in steel.
Any other information abaut this watch is appreciated.

If the back has a serial number and a "B" on it, then the case top would have been chrome plated. Gold plated for a European market watch would be unusual.

Why would they plate it without your permission??

There is no «B» on the back.
I thought maybe the watch should be gold plated originally since they did it. Here is a photo of how it looked when I got it back.

Can you post a picture of the back, insides as well if possible?

It looks like they polished off your chrome plate and completely ruined the profile of your case! ... and changed the crown!?

This is the back before service.

This is afterwards. You can see that it is partly gold and partly chrome.

It definitely was a chrome-plated top case, with steel back originally.

However, I'm not convived that is an original case, to begin with. In my opinion, the movement and dial have been re-cased.
