Hi. I have for many years this clock. I do not know anything about the history of this model. It has an inscription on the back- "ruhrkohle ag/ 25 jahre". Please help me to find out more about this watch. Thank You.

This appears to be a watch that was given as a 25 year employment anniversary. It dates from the late 1950s.

It's very unusual for JLC to state the gold carat like that on the back in that way, so I'd be curious to see the inside of the case back. If you provide that, please also provide a movement picture so I can ID the movement for you.

The watch, or at least its movement, dates to approximately 1945. I suspect it was cased later.

The case itself, is not made by JLC, why that is, is unclear. Maybe to keep costs down, they used a third party case made locally.

The more I look at it, I think it has been re-cased. If you look at the dial, there are 2 small screws at 12:00 and 6:00. These should normally not be visible. So the original case had more of a bezel (covering the screws) than that of the case it is currently in.

Thanks for the information. It is useful for me, given that I knew nothing about this watch.
