Help with informations on thisJLC Geophysic Chronometer watch

]This watch belonged to my daughter's great-grandfather. It was bought in Paris in the late 1950s or early 1960s. It seems to be a JLC Geophysic Chronometer, but strangely it does not have the numbering on its outer case. On the outside case has a sealing wax with the symbol of the geophysical year written Geophysic Chronometer. The machine looks real. The watch has a gold case, but I do not have any document of the purchase, nor the original box. The watch has not the original watchband. We received it in a red velvet box written Clerc 4 Rue de l´opéra. Paris Montecarlo.
We want to sell the watch, but I wonder if even without the numbering case, it can be marketed. And what could be the market value.
PS: Unfortunatedly I was not able of adding more than one image because the plattform does not allow me to do it. I added several photos in one file but it is not the best way to see the watch. Can you tell me how to add more than one image?

Thank you
Ileana Pradilla

This looks like a Geophysic made for the French market with a French made case. French made cases will have a small "Eagle head" hallmark stamped on the case somewhere. The value is less than a Swiss case, but still, it's a nice watch. If you are in France, and would like I can put you in contact with a French colleague and we can pursue the matter further. He is in Paris.

Thank you very much for your answer. I live in in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil but it is not difficult, if there is interest from you and your watchmaker friend, to send the watch through friends who travel to Paris often. I did not see any little eagle's head on the case. Could it be under the Geophysic Chronometre seal? I am interested in the marketing of the watch, and in making contact with the French watchmaker. It would be prudent to have a notion even if approximate the value of the watch. Thanks again

The Eagle head will be on the outside back, maybe under the seal and on the side.

It's a fairly valuable watch, so do you research! i.e. don't send it to some random French watchmaker.

Thanks a lot for your answer. What I meant is that it is not difficult to me to send the watch to France, in case it will be necessary. I was referring specifically to your French contact.
In order to look for the little eagle head on the back it is probably I will have to remove the seal. Would not that devalue the watch? Sorry if I ask so many questions but as my ain is to well the wacht, I am afraid of do something that can depreciate it. Thank you again!

Do not remove the seal. I'd wait for someone that is knowledgeable to handle this. If you'd like, email me to info@classicwatch.com and I can put you in contact with someone in France that is a specialist and won't take advantage of you.
