Looking for info on this watch: 1940's teardrop lugs?

I recently purchased this watch (first JLC) and wanted to know a little more about it:

1. Is the watch original?
1. How would you date the watch? My guess is 1940's
2. What would have been the period-correct strap/bracelet? And what would this watch have been "used" for (formal, everyday)?

Lastly, where can I buy Zaf's book in the UK? Thanks!

1. Looks legit
2. Dates to 1944/45
3. Try this for a UK source for the book:

http://www.formby-clocks.co.uk/ (they have it for 50 GBP)

4. Unclear on the original strap. It would have been leather of some kind, with most likely an unsigned Swiss made buckle.

Thanks Zaf! I just bought the book!

In conclusion, do you know what this watch would have originally been "used" for (formal, casual)?

Kind of a dress watch of the era. The snap back cases were not water resistant, so not a sportsman's watch.
