1. In order for the Atmos clock to run properly, it must be 100% level. There is a leveling bubble at the base of the clock, just below the 6:00 position. The leveling screws are to the left and to the right of the bubble. Before doing anything else, make sure the bubble is dead center by adjusting the screws as necessary. In order to gain access to the screws, the front glass must be carefully removed. On some models, this is done by pressing down and outwards on the gold tab located just above the 12:00 position, on others the entire glass enclosure is removed.

2. The next step is to free the pendulum up from the locked position. The pendulum lock is located to the right of the presentation engraving. Push the lever down and slide all the way to the left. The pendulum should start swinging, a little jumpy at first but should settle down to a nice smooth motion assuming the clock has been properly leveled. Also, should you ever have to move the clock, it is critical that the pendulum be locked by gently swinging the lever left to right. Severe damage may occur if the clock is moved around without taking this precaution.

3. Setting the time is done with your fingers, rotate hands clockwise to the desired time, taking care to not touch the dial. When finished, re-install the front glass pane removed in step 1.

4. The clock’s accuracy depends to a degree on your environment. The time keeping can be tweaked as needed by moving the “regulator” lever located at the top of the clock, towards “S” to slow the clock down or towards “F” to speed the clock up. Only very minor movements to this lever are needed to impact timekeeping, so move it in minute amounts only, run it for a few days and repeat as needed.
