Small watch: strap with or without taper?

Postby epicurus » Tue May 26, 2015 9:35 am

Hi everyone,

It might seem like a ridiculous thing for mental wrestling but I would appreciate a second opinion.

I'm about to order a strap for my vintage JLC 159, lugs: 16 mm, diameter: 33 mm.

Should I go for a non-taper strap, 16/16 mm or a tapered one, 16/14. What is the difference to the eye? Some say it makes the dial look bigger or smaller, does it?

Cheers!

Either should work, I think you'll barely notice a 16/14 taper.
