age of a memovox and cal 815?

Postby ddpcm » Fri Sep 23, 2016 9:06 am

Dear Zaf,
I am new in the forum but my memovox is a bit older. I am 73 now and it was given by my father when i was 18. New or not I dont remember.
It is 18 k gold and the numbers are 735519 on the back and inside 1266203. It was serviced every year and not changed. The orig. box is gone.
There is no date. One of the crowns lost his gold. I never cleaned the plate so it is as it is. I have pictures but did not find out how to place them.
Can you help me with the history?
With regards, Peter de Jong

It's one of the early no-date automatic alarms, dates to approximately 1957 though it may have been sold later.

Thank you for the information. It is a automatic you might have seen in on the numbers.. Is this now the 489 or the 815? If you are interested I will send you foto's, although you might have seen hundreds.

It's the Cal. 815 automatic ... the 489 is manual wind.
