Futurematic dial styles

Postby Wana » Tue Nov 09, 2021 4:02 pm

I’m currently on the hunt for a black dial Futurematic, and have noticed two different dial styles. One has a red quarter circle on the unwound side of the power reserve dial and a gold quarter circle on the wound side of the power reserve dial. The other just has the gold quarter circle on the unwound side. Are these both correct from the factory? Is one style more or less desirable than the other?

Anybody got a nice one they’re looking to sell?

Yes, but are correct. When they show luminous material on the dial, the hands are also supposed to be luminous.

Thanks, Zaf. So if I'm understanding correctly, if there is luminous material on the dial, but not on the hands, the hands have been replaced at some point?

Yes with a non-lume model or it has fallen off. On the top example, you can still see signs of the lume. They were either dipped in lume at their tips or had conventionally filled dauphine hands.
