Re: Early bumper automatic

I was looking at the Powerwind section last night (Page 150) and the 476 is mentioned. "a direct descendant of calibre 476, LeCoultre's first bumper movement." So it was there all the time! Solid 18K approx 1950. $_86.JPG Is the case reference stamped inside the rear case? The seller wants $2100, is...

Early bumper automatic

Zaf,

I was looking at an 18K (1949?) automatic USA cased LeCoultre.

It shows a 476/2 movement but I cannot find a mention in your book.

Re: 18K Memovox

Zaf,
Thanks for the reply,

"I assume the "875" refers to the gold contents?" Sorry about that, a bit of brain fade. Silly question.

1437876 - would this date it to about 1970?

18K Memovox

I came across the attached whilst browsing the net. A solid 18K Memovox, which according to my understanding of your excellent book, should be a caliber 916 Full Rotor Automatic. One of the last made perhaps. Solid gold dial? The back looks like it has had a serious session with the polishing wheel....

Re: Le Coultre Wrist Alarm

Zaf, Thank you for the response. It does look very clean except for the stainless ring around the alarm dial. Somewhat eccentric to put the lum. dots on the odd numbers. If I assume around $1200 for a manual / +50% (?) for an auto and double for 18K I would not be far out? Are there any differences ...

Le Coultre Wrist Alarm

Mr Basha, Whilst awaiting my copy of your book, I have started to look for suitable Memovox examples. Could you give your opinion of the attached. To me the "lum" looks a bit strange on the hands. As it is just "LeCountre" does that indicate an American cased version? The seller is asking $1450. Tha...

Re: Jaeger Duo-Plan 18K 1933

Thanks for that. I'll put $2000 on the insurance as it makes no difference to the premium.

I know what you mean re. the .pdf, silly idea, which is redundant now anyway!

Re: Jaeger Duo-Plan 18K 1933

Thank you for your help so far. It's House insurance time. Is it worth putting this on as a separate item? I cannot find another to compare value with. So, going by equivalent small cocktail Rolex etc, I would guess less than $1000? Maybe £500, about $800 tops? Cheers Vince P.S. I promise shall buy ...

Re: Memovox

Thank you for the reply. I am very attracted to a Memovox but know very little about them, certainly compared to a Constellation. Actually some of the most attractive, to me, have been stainless. If I get offered one I shall pop it up on this forum for appraisal first if that is OK? Buying your book...

Memovox

A dealer has agreed to buy an Omega of me, so I have £1750 "credit" with him to find something else. I suggested looking for a Memovox. His reply was - "I will certainly keep my eyes out for them. I may be able to find source a JLC Memovox in stainless steel for 2k but solid gold is going to cost 3....
