Re: LeCoultre watch identification?

They won't have anything about that watch's history beyond what I told you as they have no record of what was done to USA watches. They only shipped the movements out of JLC CH, the case was made in the U.S.A. JLC CH was no records other than that of the movement. Save your $. Cal 480 is decent. Th...

It's a caliber K480/CW, dates to about 1963.
Thank you, I had written to JLC to ask about the age and all I got was a letter telling me I could buy the watch's history for $270.
is the K480/CW movement a decent one as far as their movements go?

If not, it's the outer arrow that would be the pry point.
My watchmaker received the watch today and was able to send me a picture.
I am completely unfamiliar with JLC so the movement doesn't tell me much.
Do you recognize it?
Thank you again, your help and expertise is greatly appreciated.

Re: LeCoultre watch identification?

It may or may not have a model name. You'd need to find it in an old catalog, I don't have them all. I can date it for you and identify its case reference once you get shots of the insides. Zaf, the watch was delivered a day early. It's hard to tell if the case back will separate on the inner circl...

Thank you. It is scheduled for delivery on Thursday, I'll post pics then.
Thank you again,

LeCoultre watch identification?

Hello all and thank you for the ad. I'm from central Pennsylvania and I've been collecting watches for a number of years, primarily Omega, Longines & Movado. Lately, some classic pocket watches as well but I've never had a JLC until today. I was wondering if anyone could offer information on a watch...
